Atos: contract with German climate computing centre
(CercleFinance.com) - Atos announces that it has signed a five-year contract with the German Climatology Computing Centre (DKRZ) to supply a supercomputer based on its latest BullSequana XH2000 technology by mid 2021.
This “Supercomputer based on its latest BullSequana XH2000 technology to increase DKRZ's computing power by 5, compared to the currently operating high-performance computer “Mistral” which was provided by Atos in 2015,“ the French IT services group emphasizes.
The new system is worth 32.5 million euros. It is financed by the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres, Germany's largest research organisation, as well as the Max Planck Company and the City of Hamburg.
