Atos: wins contract with UK subsidiary of Aegon
(CercleFinance.com) - Aegon has signed a 15-year deal with France's Atos to service and administer the Dutch insurer's non-platform customers, which will help it cut costs.
The agreement is expected to generate annual cost savings of approximately 10 million pounds for Aegon, growing to 30 million pounds over time.
Charges are estimated to reach 130 million pounds, and are expected to be recorded over the first three years of the agreement.
The agreement covers around 1.4 million customers who have a number of policy types. Since 2016, Atos has successfully serviced and administered Aegon's 500,000 protection customers in the UK.
The partnership is expected to be effective as of mid-2019.
Atos aims to win similar contracts to develop an Edinburgh-based centre of excellence in the administration of life and pensions business.
