Atos: Tera 1000 elected a top supercomputer
(CercleFinance.com) - Atos and CEA's military applications department announce that Tera 1000 - a supercomputer that has been jointly developed for defense needs and nuclear deterrence - is in 14th place in the "Top 500" of the most powerful machines in the world.
Tera 1000 therefore becomes the most powerful European generalist supercomputer in Europe, reaching a calculating power of 25 petaflops for an extremely competitive energy consumption of four megawatts.
"This result crowns the expertise acquired by the CEA/DAM and Atos in High-Performance Computing (HPC) and the co-design strategy initiated some 18 years ago by the two partners," the groups said.
