Atos: Invest remains neutral after group abandons Gemalto
(CercleFinance.com) - In a report issued on Monday morning, Invest Securities confirmed its "neutral" rating on Gemalto, along with its target price of 133 euros, with Atos having decided to abandon acquiring Gemalto.
The specialist in digital security is now in Thales' sights, which has made a bid of 51 euros per share. Atos has not made a counter-bid and, according to the analyst, this is good news from a fundamental viewpoint.
However, Atos, has said that it "remains available to study a merger with Gemalto, “Should, for any reason, Thales' conditional offer not be completed, Atos shall remain available to discuss a combination with Gemalto,” Invest Securities says, which highlights Atos' significant free cash (77 million euros at end-2017).
