Atos: makes formal bid for Gemalto
(CercleFinance.com) - Atos has announced that it has made a formal tender offer for all of the outstanding shares, or shares to be issued, at a price of 46 euros per share (dividend attached), representing a total equity capital value of about 4.
3 billion for Gemalto.
The proposed transaction will strengthen Gemalto's businesses and will lead to the emergence of a global leader in the technology of cyber security and digital services, benefiting all parties involved, the IT services group said.
The acquisition will be made fully in cash, using Atos' existing cash and a loan that has been subject to firm commitments. The price represents a premium of about 42% on the last unassigned Gemalto share price on 8 December.
