Nexans: connects Ørsted-Eversource offshore wind project
(CercleFinance.com) - Nexans has announced that it has completed its second contract in the US with Ørsted and Eversource to supply the export cable system for the Revolution Wind wind farm.
Located more than 24 km south of the Rhode Island coast and 51 km east of the Connecticut coast, the project will connect the wind farm to the onshore power grid.
With a capacity of 704 MW, Revolution Wind will help both States meet their commitments to develop offshore wind to meet their energy needs, supplying over 350,000 homes with electricity.
Nexans said that by eliminating potential future emissions, this landmark project will avoid nearly one million tonnes of carbon pollution - the equivalent of taking over 200,000 cars off the road each year.
