Nexans: to invest 1.5-2 billion euros in electricity
(CercleFinance.com) - Christopher Guérin, Nexans' CEO said in the FT today that he wants to invest between 1.
5 and 2 billion euros in the electricity sector over the next three years.
Remember that Nexans wants to dispose of assets in cable manufacturing for different sectors, including automotive or telecoms, in order to concentrate on the electricity sector (around 55% of sales), Aurel BCG said.
Nexans has announced its aim to become a pure player in electrification by 2024, a market that it says represents 65% of the world cable market and which is expected to grow by 4.3% p.a. over the next ten years.
The group will reorient its portfolio through a series of disposals, but also through transformative operations and targeted complementary acquisitions, aimed at reinforcing its electrification offer and enabling it to amplify its value proposition.
By 2024, Nexans targets standard sales of between six and seven billion euros, EBITDA of between 10% and 12% of sales, and cash generation of 500 to 600 million euros (before mergers, acquisitions and capital transactions).
