Nexans: wins contract for wind farms in Netherlands
(CercleFinance.com) - Nexans has announced that it has won a multi-million euro contract for the Borssele 1 and 2 wind farms in Ørsted, for a total of 94 wind turbines, which is located about 23 km off the Dutch coast, in water depth of 14 to 36 metres.
This contract, covering the 66 kV intra-field submarine cable and related accessories, is the first of a five-year new framework agreement recently signed by the French cable manufacturer and Ørsted.
The intra-field cables for the Borssele 1 and 2 wind farms will be produced at Nexans' Germany plant in Hanover for delivery in 2019. Once installed on the seabed, the cables will be connected to the turbine bases by 2020.
