Eurofins: new tool for kidney transplantation
(CercleFinance.com) - Eurofins announced on Monday that Transplant Genomics, its subsidiary specialising in the diagnosis of transplant rejection, has launched a new panel of combined biomarkers to provide early indications of rejection in kidney transplant recipients.
The tool, called "OmniGraf", combines Transplant Genomics' subclinical acute rejection gene expression test, TruGraf, with Viracor TRAC, its donor DNA test.
According to Eurofins, this combination provides a significantly higher positive predictive value and negative predictive value than any other renal rejection test that is currently available on the market.
The "OmniGraf" test also requires only six millilitres of blood, a sample that can easily be obtained through routine sampling.
The new product is the result of its collaboration with Northwestern University, a leading medical university in Chicago, Eurofins said.
