Nordea: Cevia Capital takes 2.3% stake
(CercleFinance.com) - Swedish venture capital group Cevian Capital has disclosed taking a 2.
3% stake in Nordea on Friday, seeing "significant value potential" in the shares of the Nordic region's biggest bank.
However, this announcement made by the activist investor has failed to lift the stock in pretty bearish European stockmarkets. The Nordea share is currently down 0.3% in Stockholm.
In a statement this morning, Cevian said that it plans to work with Nordea's owners, board of directors and management to realise the "value potential without unnecessary time delay."
The asset manager added that it is particularly looking forward to working with Nordea's lead shareholder, Sampo, citing "high regards" for the Finnish financial company's team.
