Kone: wins escalator order in Madrid
(CercleFinance.com) - Finnish lift maker Kone said on Monday that it has won an order for elevators for a mixed-use real estate development in Madrid, Spain.
The group did not reveal the value of the deal.
Kone will equip the development with 18 high-rise elevators, which will travel at maximum speeds of up to 6 metres per second, 24 machine room-less elevators, four heavy-duty service elevators, and four smaller 110 escalators.
The "Caleido" project will cover over 70,000 square metres of floor space and includes a 36-story high-rise to complement the four existing towers on the site. It will become Spain's first educational tower, housing the Instituto de Empresa's university campus.
The project is expected to be completed at the end of 2020, Kone said.
