Nokia: contract to develop fiber optics in Slovenia
(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday Nokia announced that it has won a contract to build a fiber-optic network in Slovenia.
The Finnish group said that it had been selected by Telekom Slovenije as an equipment partner for the deployment of a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network offering 10Gb/s.
In a statement, Telekom Slovenije said that the pandemic has created new needs amongst users, who require better and more stable connections during this period of remote working.
The operator says that this project will also enable subscribers to benefit from high-resolution video technologies, such as 4K, as well as virtual reality.
The first installations are planned to be made by the end of the year.
