Nokia: launches thermal detection platform to fight Covid
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia announced on Thursday an automated temperature detection platform that was designed to help spot potential COVID-19 infections in facilities with thousands of people.
The analytics-based solution uses a thermal camera to capture video footage and takes individual temperature readings for every person that enters a factory, an office, an airport or a school, the Finnish company said.
It also streamlines and automates the process of identifying people who are not complying with mask-wearing rules, it said.
If an irregularity is detected, a centralised, enterprise-wide view is presented and a real-time SMS or email alert is automatically sent to personnel so they can take actions.
Nokia said the solution has been successfully deployed at multiple locations, including its own Chennai factory, in India, as the factory reopened to production and over 1,000 employees returned to work.
