Nokia: wins deal to support Finland's power grid
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has been selected by Fingrid, Finland's national transmission system operator, to build a telecommunications network that will support the digital transformation of the country's electricity grid, the company said on Tuesday.
Fingrid will use the IP/MPLS network to operate 120 high-voltage substations and control 14,600km of power transmission across the country, the gear maker said.
The project will enhance new grid applications along with other critical ones, such as supervisory control and data acquisition systems, teleprotection and differential systems, Nokia said.
