Nokia: to collaborate with Japan's Hitachi Kokusai on 5G
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia and Hitachi Kokusai said on Monday that they will cooperate on projects that will include local 5G and private wireless LTE networks for industrial and government customers.
The Finnish telecom gear maker and the Japanese chipmaker said they plan to collaborate to provide an eco-system of solutions to support the deployment of new digital automation services.
As part of the deal, Nokia will bring its private LTE and 5G wireless connectivity solutions, that are particularly used in industries such as energy, transportation, the public sector, manufacturing and logistics.
Meanwhile, Hitachi Kokusai will provide its expertise in the adoption of private LTE networks for industrial use and disaster prevention in Japan.
Nokia also announced on Monday that its cloud-native software platform will be available on Amazon Web Services, the cloud offer of US online giant Amazon.
This will make Nokia's software products easier to deploy, integrate, use and service, the group said.
Nokia already offers several applications on AWS, including customer experience, service fulfillment, and orchestration solutions.
