Nokia: signs network transformation deal with Brazil's Oi
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has signed a deal to support the transformation of the network of Brazil's Oi, the Finnish network gear maker said on Wednesday.
The agreement aims to prepare for increased levels of fixed and mobile broadband demand, and particularly fiber connectivity.
Under the terms of the deal, Nokia will leverage its radio access, IP and optical transport and fixed broadband solutions and services, connecting up to 10 million houses by 2021.
The deployment of the new network will support 2G, 3G and 4G services and may be upgraded to support 5G, Nokia said.
