(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia said on Monday that it has agreed to allow OPPO, a Chinese smartphone maker, to use its patents as part of a global license agreement.
Under the deal, OPPO will make payments to Nokia for a multi-year license period, the Finish company said.
The terms of the transaction remain confidential.
Nokia also said on Monday that Telecom Egypt has adopted its new high-speed technology for optical networks, in what is the first 200G long-distance, single-carrier transmission service in Africa.
The switch will enable Telecom Egypt to double its capacity, while reducing operating costs, Nokia said.
