Nokia: project for BMW in China; alliance with Infosys
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia said on Thursday that it has deployed with China Unicom a private LTE network for smart manufacturing at a BMW plant in China, the Finnish company said on Thursday.
Nokia's virtualised solution will support smart manufacturing activities at the plant, which is being built in Shenyang city in the Liaoning province of China.
Nokia also said on Wednesday that it has signed a strategic alliance with Indian consulting and technology group Infosys to bring artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and Internet of Things (IoT) on markets including transportation, energy and media.
Finally, Nokia today introduced its "Future X for industries" strategy and architecture, developed by Bell Labs, that comprises edge cloud, augmented intelligence and advanced security analytics.
The group said the market could unlock "trillions" of dollars of economic value over the next decade.
