Nokia: 5G technology passing field test in Hamburg
(CercleFinance.com) - An EU project aiming to test key aspects of the new 5G technology is being carried out by Nokia and Deutsche Telekom at the Port of Hamburg, the Finnish telecom gear maker said on Tuesday.
In this world premiere, the companies plan to test different applications in real-world industrial conditions at the German port, which covers around 8,000 hectares
The project includes data glasses for engineers, as well as connected traffic lights, and sensors on ships, Nokia said, citing a "positive project so far."
The test, which began in January, is set to run for two years.
