Nokia: mobile broadband deal with Vodafone India
(CercleFinance.com) - Vodafone India has deployed Nokia's architecture to improve its business productivity and network operations, the Finnish telecom gear maker said on Thursday.
The "cloud packet core" is intended to help the Indian mobile phone operator to better handle mobile broadband growth, maximise resource utilisation and rapidly deploy services when and where needed, Nokia said.
In particular, the technology will meet the data demand of the 7.8 million subscribers Vodafone has in Bangalore, the third most-populous city in India, often referred to as the "Silicon Valley of India".
