Nokia: wins railway communications contract in Poland
(CercleFinance.com) - Finnish telecoms equipment company Nokia has won a five-year contract to deploy a communications network to enhance railway security in Poland, it said on Thursday.
Nokia will provide Poland's state-owned railway operator PKP PLK with a nationwide turnkey GSM-R and mission-critical backhaul network, the company said this morning.
This is Nokia's largest ever GSM-R contract, with the project providing PKP PLK with one of the biggest railway communications networks in Europe.
