Nokia: testing narrowband IoT technology with Zain.
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia said it has successfully tested with telecom operator Zain Saudi Arabia an IoT ecosystem based on a narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) technology at a live site.
The trial has been conducted in a remote location via a Nokia LTE base station at 900 MHz, demonstrating the role NB-IoT could play in applications such as smart metering for electricity, parking and waste management.
The trial follows the agreement signed by Nokia and Zain Saudi Arabia to collaborate on 5G and IoT development.
