Nokia: completes acquisition of Finland's Comptel.
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has completed its 350 million euro takeover of Finland-based telecoms software maker Comptel, the acquisition of which was originally announced in February.
The network gear maker said the acquisition will advance its strategy to build a "standalone software business" by expanding and strengthening its portfolio.
Comptel will bolster Nokia's business by adding capabilities that help digital service providers bring new communications services.
When combined with its operations support systems (OSS), business support systems (BSS), analytics, security and cloud technology, Nokia believes it will be able to offer better software intelligence and real-time network information for cloud environments.
