(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has successfully tested with University of Notre Dame a software platform that improves speed of access to data services in congested areas, the company said on Tuesday.
The Finnish telecoms equipment maker carried live tests based on the multi-access edge computing (MEC) technology at the university's iconic football stadium.
The goal was to see how the technology can enhance Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity for students and sports fans attending football games and other events at the site, which has a capacity of more than 80,000 seats.
