Telefonica: to delist from London Stock Exchange
(CercleFinance.com) - Spanish telecoms giant Telefonica is to cease trading on the London Stock Exchange as a result of low trading volumes, the company said on Friday.
In a regulatory filing to the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Telefonica said that it has decided to request its London listing to be cancelled, as low volumes do not justify trading costs.
The delisting will become effective on 16 May, the group said.
Following the cancellation of its London listing, Telefonica will continue to be admitted to trading on the Madrid Stock Exchange, amongst other markets.
