IAG: Iberia orders twenty A320 neo from Airbus.
(CercleFinance.com) - Owned by IAG, the Spanish airline Iberia has placed a firm order for the purchase of 20 Airbus A320 NEOs ("New Engine Option"), it was announced on Wednesday.
The group intends to modernise its short- and medium-haul fleet and has announced this order at a conference coinciding with its 90th anniversary.
The 20 aircraft will be delivered from next year until 2021. The catalog price amounts to 1.84 billion dollars, although Iberia said in its statement that it has obtained a "significant reduction" from the European plane maker.
