Grifols: FDA approves new anti-rabies treatment
(CercleFinance.com) - Grifols has received approval from the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for a new treatment of people exposed to the rabies virus.
The Spanish maker of plasma-derived medicines said the new formulation delivers higher concentration of anti-rabies virus antibodies compared to other products on the market.
Approximately 60,000 people in the US each year are treated with postexposure prophylaxis following exposure to an infected animal, Grifols said.
