Siemens Gamesa: wins contract for two wind farms in India

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Gamesa announced on Tuesday that it has signed a contract to supply turbines for two wind projects in India.


The order placed by Alfanar - a Saudi group specialising in renewable energies - covers 206 turbines representing a total capacity of 453 MW.

Both projects, located in the state of Gujarat, in western India, is set to be operational from 2020.

According to the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), India is now the world's fourth largest installed wind energy market, behind China, the United States and Germany.
