Siemens Gamesa: wins order for Taiwan wind power project
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Gamesa said that it has won an order from Denmark's Orsted to install turbines for an offshore wind power project in Taiwan.
Following its selection as preferred supplier in October 2018, the Spainish company has received the firm order for the 900 MW Greater Changhua 1 & 2a offshore project, that also includes a service agreement.
As part of the deal, Siemens Gamesa will establish a nacelle assembly facility at Taichung Harbor, with the plant expected to be ready in 2021.
Offshore construction for the project is expected to begin in 2021.
