Siemens Gamesa: order for two wind farms in South Africa

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) today announces a contract to supply 109 wind turbines to two wind farms in South Africa, each of which has a capacity of 2.
3 MW, with rotors having a diameter of 108 metres.

Located near Springbok (North Cape) and Ceres (Eastern Cape) respectively, these two parks will therefore represent a total capacity of 250 MW, enough to supply about 214,000 homes in South Africa with electricity from wind power.

The turbine installation will start this year and is scheduled for completion in 2020. The order is accompanied by a full 10-year service agreement to secure the wind farms' operation.
