Siemens Gamesa: market reacts positively to latest results
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy released its results for the first quarter of fiscal 2018 this morning, saying that performance was "in line" with full-year guidance.
Between October and December, wind energy unit recorded a net loss of 35 million euros, with group sales declining by 23% to 2.1 billion euros.
For the record, Siemens Gamesa issued a full-year 2018 sales guidance of between 9 billion and 9.6 billion euros.
However, the firm insisted on the 29% growth in order intake over the past quarter, driven by both its onshore (+19%) and the offshore businesses, where orders practically doubled.
Investors welcomed the news, with Siemens Gamesa shares jumping 5.1% to almost 12.9 euros in early trading in Madrid today.
