Santander: appoints new board member at Chilean unit
(CercleFinance.com) - Spanish banking giant Santander said on Monday that a new member has been appointed as an independent director to fill an empty seat at the board of Banco Santander Chile.
Rodrigo Vergara, an economist and professor of the Institute of Economy in Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, will fill the seat previously held by Raimundo Monge, who resigned from the board.
Furthermore, Vergara has been designated as first vice-president of the board of Banco Santander Chile, the bank said.
