BBVA: sells Paraguay subsidiary to Colombia's Banco GNB
(CercleFinance.com) - BBVA announced on Thursday that it has sold its Paraguayan subsidiary BBVA Paraguay to Colombia's Banco GNB, for the equivalent of 270 million dollars (240 million euros).
In a statement on its website, the second largest Spanish bank behind Santander said it will book a net book gain of 20 million euros following this transaction.
With around 2.1 billion dollars in assets, BBVA Paraguay is the fourth largest player in the banking sector in Paraguay, both in terms of loans and deposits.
