BBVA: Chilean subsidiary for sale; Scotiabank a candidate.
(CercleFinance.com) - Spanish bank BBVA has confirmed rumours in the press that the Canadian Scotiabank has expressed interest in its Chilean subsidiary, BBVA Chile.
Scotiabank has asked to consult non-publically available information about BBVA Chile and meet management, which BBVA agreed to as part of a non-disclosure agreement.
However, the Spanish bank said that at this stage it cannot be assumed that these negotiations will actually lead to a final agreement.
