Amadeus: posts rise in earnings; cites 'confident' outlook.

(CercleFinance.com) - Spanish travel technology company Amadeus on Friday posted a 10 per cent year-on-year rise in first-half earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA).

The tourism IT services group said EBITDA amounted to 998.9 million euros in the first six months of 2017, from 907.1 million euros in the same period the year before.

"Amadeus' progression in the first half of the year was positive. Our businesses performed well and completed important milestones successfully, such as the migration of Southwest Airlines' domestic flights to Altea," explained President & CEO Luis Maroto.

Altea is Amadeus' reservation system, which offers inventory and departure control capabilities.

The Madrid-based company says it looks forward to the second half of the year "with confidence".
