Novo Nordisk: Japan approves new diabetes drug
(CercleFinance.com) - Japan has approved Novo Nordisk's Ozempic for the treatment of adults with type 2 diabetes, the Danish drugmaker said on Friday.
The approval is based on results from trials that involved approximately 1,200 adults from Japan and which have resulted in greater reductions in blood glucose relative to other treatments, as well as greater reductions in mean body weight, the firm said.
Novo Nordisk said it expects to launch Ozempic in Japan in the coming months, once reimbursement has been obtained.
