Siemens Healthineers: E2.73bn capital increase
(CercleFinance.com) - The group has launched a capital increase to partially finance its acquisition of Varian.
As part of this transaction, Siemens Healthineers raised 2.73 billion euros by issuing 75 million new shares at a price of 36.40 euros (current share price: 36.9 euros, -3.7%).
In early August Siemens Healthineers announced the acquisition of Varian, a US manufacturer of medical devices and software for the treatment of cancer, in a transaction estimated at 16.4 billion dollars.
The planned acquisition - already approved by Varian's Board of Directors - is expected to be finalised in the first half of next year, Siemens Healthineers said in a statement.
