Volkswagen: Switzerland suspends VW car imports.
(CercleFinance.com) - There has been a big setback for Volkswagen, with the Swiss road authority (FEDRO), having recently announced the suspension of imports of Porsche Cayenne cars, which have been equipped with illegal carbon emission monitoring software.
Although provisional, this prohibition applies exclusively to the 3 litre diesel Porsche Cayenne models that have not yet been registered in the country. Vehicles that are already registered in Switzerland are therefore not concerned, although will still have to be upgraded.
Some 3 litre Porsche Cayenne cars had already been recalled at the end of July in Germany after the the illegal software was discovered.
