Siemens Energy: prices first green bond issue
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Energy says that it has successfully placed its first green bond with a face value of E1.
5bn, marking an important step in its efforts towards the ever stronger integration of sustainability in all aspects of its business.
This green bond was issued in two tranches of 750 million euros at fixed rates, with maturities of three and six years respectively, and annual coupons of 4% and 4.25%. The total order book reached around E5.5bn.
Siemens Energy will use the proceeds of this bond issue to refinance the existing debt of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE), a "key player in wind energy", of which the German group holds about 97.8% of the capital.
