Siemens Energy: power plant in Italy

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Energy will build a turnkey combined cycle power plant in Ostiglia, Lombardy, Italy.

The power plant will contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions in Italy, thanks to its high efficiency and low CO2 emissions compared to coal-fired or older gas-fired power plants.

It will also be able to balance the fluctuating supply of the grid by renewable energies such as wind and solar power plants.

The project is being carried out by a consortium of Italian engineering, procurement and construction companies. The power company EP Produzione S.p.A. is the owner and operator of the plant.

The plant will use Siemens Energy's HL class gas turbine technology. The installed electrical capacity will be 880 megawatts. Completion is scheduled for the spring of 2025.
