Siemens: contract for 109 wagons and 400 million euros
(CercleFinance.com) - The Düsseldorf and Duisburg transport companies announce that they have jointly ordered 109 high-floor Avenio HF wagons from Siemens Mobility, with an option for 48 additional units.
The order value is close to 400 million euros.
The vehicles will be used on the light metro network, approximately 85 kilometres long, in Duisburg and Düsseldorf, and will also serve the towns of Neuss, Krefeld and Meerbusch.
Delivery of the first vehicles is anticipated for 2025. The Avenio HF can hold 51 passengers and 178 in standing room.
