E.ON: Commission clears joint acquisition with FSI
(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the acquisition of joint control of Westenergie Breitband by E.
ON, both from Germany, and First Sentier Investors (FSI) of Australia.
Westenergie Breitband, which is currently uniquely controlled by E.ON, builds and operates fiber-optic broadband networks in Germany.
FSI is a global asset management company ultimately controlled by Mitsubishi UFL Financial Group (MUFG), a global asset management group and banking services provider.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not give rise to any competition concerns as there are no horizontal overlaps or vertical links between the activities of Westenergie Breitband and MUFG.
