E.ON: invests in high speed in Brandenburg

ON has announced its offensive on the broadband market, investing 130 million euros through its subsidiary e.discom to expand its own broadband network in Brandenburg, Germany, with fiber connections to the building or home (FttB/H).
Through this investment - with more to come, the German energy group says that it makes a significant contribution to enabling gigabit digital coverage in rural areas.
Expansion work is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2019 and this will last over a four-year period, including all connection work. About 20,000 homes will benefit from new connections to fiber optics.
