E.ON: integration of innogy on track
(CercleFinance.com) - German utility giant E.
ON said on Monday that it was making progress integrating smaller energy group innogy into its own structure, with a detailed brand architecture now being prepared.
The companies said that they have made their first "major decisions" regarding the plans for the group's future, organisational setup, and innovation activities.
It has been decided that the new company will still be called E.ON.
E.ON and innogy have also completed an initial validation of the previously identified 600 million euros to 800 million euros in synergy potential as from 2022.
The deal still requires approval from the relevant antitrust and regulatory authorities. E.ON and innogy will remain independent companies until the transaction closes.
