E.ON: completes takeover of innogy
(CercleFinance.com) - German utility giant E.
ON's takeover of German energy group innogy is now complete, paving the way for the companies to be integrated, E.ON said on Monday.
At the end of the additional acceptance period on 25 July, 9.4% of shareholders decided to sell their innogy shares, E.ON said.
In addition to RWE's 76.8 percent stake in innogy to be sold to E.ON, the deal gives E.ON control of innogy, with 86.2% of innogy's shares upon completion of the transaction.
In a statement, E.ON said it does not expect the merger to be complete until mid-2019.
