E.ON: to build European highway for electric cars.

(CercleFinance.com) - Along with Danish electric mobility operator Clever, German utility giant E.
ON plans to build a European network of 180 ultra-fast charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs).

The two companies intend to create an "electric highway" spanning accross seven countries, from Norway to Italy, with the majority of the locations built in Germany, followed by France, Sweden, UK, and Denmark.

Each of the stations will provide 2-6 charging points and will be rolled out during the next three years.

The network has been appointed as an EU flagship project and has received 10 million euros in funding from the European Commission.
