E.ON: leader on DAX after favourable legal decision.

ON share is soaring 5.7% at lunchtime today. The utility giant is dominating the Dax with its eternal competitor RWE, which itself is up 4.5%, thanks to a ruling from the Constitutional Court of Karlsruhe.
The Court has ruled that the nuclear fuel tax paid by both groups between 2011 and 2016 was actually illegal. E.ON and RWE, which over the period respectively paid 2.8 billion euros and 1.7 billion euros, could therefore have these sums refunded.
As a reminder, Angela Merkel decided to gradually abandon civilian nuclear power, an energy that has always aroused a lot of mistrust from the German people, shortly after the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan in March 2011.
