Bayer: completes sale of US sun care brand to Beiersdorf
(CercleFinance.com) - Bayer has completed the sale of the Coppertone sun care brand to Beiersdorf for a price of 550 million dollars, the German drugmaker said on Monday.
Bayer said it has now successfully carved out the business and achieved the customary closing conditions for the deal, including approval by antitrust authorities.
In May, Bayer entered into a definitive agreement to sell Coppertone the Hamburg-based owner of Nivea.
Established in 1944, Coppertone was the first sun care brand launched in the US market. It is available in the US, Canada and China, and generated sales of 213 million dollars in 2018.
