Bayer: sells Animal Health business to Elanco
(CercleFinance.com) - Bayer announces a definitive agreement for the sale of its animal health business to US-based Elanco Animal Health, in a deal worth 7.
6 billion dollars, including 5.3 billion dollars in cash and 2.3 billion dollars in Elanco shares.
"This transaction enhances our focus as a global leader in life sciences,” said Werner Baumann, Chairman of the Board of Management of Bayer AG, marking the largest transaction in the series of portfolio measures initiated by Bayer in November 2018.
Reporting 2018 sales of 1.8 billion dollars, Bayer's Animal Health business develops and markets products and solutions to prevent and treat diseases that affect pets and livestock.
