Bayer: precision oncology treatment gets positive EU opinion
(CercleFinance.com) - A precision oncology treatment produced by Bayer to treat advanced or metastatic solid tumors has received a positive opinion from European health authorities, the German drugmaker said on Friday.
The Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency has recommended Bayer's larotrectinib for marketing authorisation in the European Union, the group said.
The recommended indication is treatment of adult and pediatric patients with solid tumors that have a rare genomic alteration called an "NTRK" gene fusion.
The European Commission is expected to give its final decision in the next few months, Bayer said.
